Create Our NOIR Cover Contest

A few years back we ran one of our most popular contests ever: The Create a Cover contest for the GHOST STORIES edition of The Gathering anthology.

Well, we’re bringing that contest back for the upcoming NOIR issue of The Gathering.

We’ve been fortunate to have had some truly great covers on our books over the years from Amanda Rachels and Edward Whatley to Kell Smith, Kelly Williams and Leo Gonzalez to name just a few of our talented creators.

Covers are the first thing that guides a person’s choice on whether to look through or pass on a book. While not always an indicator of the contents within the book, the cover has the power to get readers interested in your book or ignore it. It’s the centerpiece of promotional efforts for a new issue.

So what do you have to do to get a cover?

All you need to do is come up with your cover and submit it to us at by August 7, 2014. The editorial staff will sort through the entries and our four favorites will be featured on the site and voted on by the fans.

Voting will then come to an end on August 31st, 2014. T

Contest open only to those who have never done a cover for us.

The winning cover will be the official cover to The Gathering: NOIR edition (on sale 2014) and will receive $150, ad space in the issue for their website or comic or anything else they want to promote (within reason) and 10 comps of the issue.

2nd and 3rd place covers will receive $50 each and have their covers featured inside the issue.

Good luck and get those covers in. You never know where it could lead.

Hi there! Are there particular rules or subject matter that should be on the cover? Or is it open to the artist’s horror/sci-fi noir subject matter discretion?

  2. Andrew June 29, 2014 at 11:13 pm #

    Open to artists’ interpretation.

How many entries are allowed per artist?

We won’t limit the amount of entries but try and limit it to your favorite/best ideas. We don’t want individuals throwing a dozen different pieces to see what sticks.

I just wanted to thank you for the Two Minute Miracle Gel. It’s the only thing that has been very useful for my skin in the five years that I’ve dealt with with severe acne. I’ve been to dermatologist after dermatologist using skin care product after skin care product and this is the only thing that has helped me! Thank You So Much.
